U.S. Bank is seeking a **Senior Reliability Engineer** with strong design, development and problem solving skills to contribute toward the success of our technology support.
The Sr Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving the reliability of our applications by implementing solutions that either prevent, or quickly resolve service disruptions. As a Reliability Engineer, you will accomplish this via multiple disciplines such as utilizing existing knowledge, problem management or automation. Simple stated, you will do everything possible to eliminate incidents from recurring and/or reduce the time it takes to get our customers back up and running. In addition, you'll focus on improving the following for our applications: availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and effective pro-active monitoring.
? Design, write and deliver software/automation to improve the recoverability, availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of products.
? Monitor and recover multiple applications during incident recovery
? Provide preventative activities, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and quick resolution of events and incidents to ensure application stability.
? Prevent problem recurrence as a strong advocate for production reliability
? Design, write and deliver monitors and dashboards that improve predictability and are actionable in a proactive manner.
? Day-to-day operational management, including response, incident, event and problem management activities.
? Understand different platforms, applications, hardware and infrastructure and how they interact.
? Enhance Knowledge repository that helps reduce recovery times for disruptions in service.
? Provide technical oversight to others resolving high severity application incidents
? Oversee preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolve problems to ensure application stability
? Provide thought-leadership within team and to the broader community to promote re-use and develop consistent production support processes
? Provide prompt and high-quality production support & service restoration to complex mainframe legacy systems in the Hogan arena
? Expected to provide 24x7 rotational OnCall support coverage
In this role you will be part of the team established to provide production support to the suite of Hogan applications (mainframe). You will be part of the Hogan Application Production Support team, and will be working closely with both IT (TOS) development and business line partners.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant work experience in business and risk analysis,
IT Service Management, production support, product/project management, or
- Experience using tools that measure and report on team performance
- Demonstrated problem-solving, project management, and teamwork/collaboration
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Strong budgeting and time management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communicator both verbally and written
- Financial Services industry experience a plus
