Performschecks on utility equipment; boilers, chillers, compressor, vacuum pumps, waterpumps, hot water return pumps, hot water temperatures, sump pumps, heat pumps,gas heaters, electrical vaults, and emergency generators. Is also responsible for the upkeep of utilityareas and Pneumatic Tube system as assigned. Other duties include basic maintenance, servicing of mechanical,electrical, plumbing and carpentry work. Performs on-the-job training in various aspects of maintenance. Works with general instructions from theMaintenance Lead of various sections, Supervisor, Maintenance, and/or ManagingDirector, Facilities Management. Thisposition requires working on a rotating shift twenty-four hours a day, 7 days aweek. Provides assistance to all of thesubsidiaries of the Health System as instructed, and may be asked to servicenon-related organizations.Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalentrequired. Graduate of a two (2) yearvocational or trade school preferred. Minimum of two (2) years experience in building maintenance or six (6)months as a journeyman in one or more of the building trade crafts such aselectricity, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, or painting; or anycombination of education and experience which would provide the necessaryknowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to performthe essential functions of this position.
